Looking for inspiration

I need to create some new designs, but I’m feeling stuck. I decided to play around with some new brushes by adding a little color to an image I downloaded from the Getty Open Content Program. I ended up using the same old brushes, but it got the creative juices flowing a little.

Her name is Beatrice.

EDITED to ADD: On the left is the original. On the right is my colorization and painting.

    • I’m painting on top of the image using gimp. For some images I use multiple layers and paint one element at a time. For this one, however, I painted everything on one layer.

I hope that helps. If not, maybe I can do a brief tutorial later in the day. Please let me know if that’s something you’d like to see.

      • No that cool! I do the same but I am using layer mode « Overlay » or « Grain merge ». So I keep the colour strength without loosing details and texture or the picture.

But yes a tutorial is always welcome!

        Thank you!
